Spoilers, Future Episode descriptions and Miscellaneous News UPDATED August 31, 2004: Updated episode info for Peacekeeper Wars
This is also from
Farscape Fantasy, there are screen caps from the "illegal"
clip online along with the text. Some General Spoiler information posted in various places on the 'net: Farscape: Peacekeeper War revives the innovative sci-fi saga following its unexpected demise at the end of its fourth season. "We wanted to wrap everything up in a wonderfully satisfying way, but also leave the future open for movies or whatever we might do next," reveals Henson, during a break from editing the two-part, four-hour production. "The mini-series begins with John Crichton and Aeryn Sun getting put back together after they were crystallized (in Bad Timing). The characters are now engaged to be married, they're expecting a baby and they're very much in love. They just want to settle down. "But the Scarrans and the Peacekeepers have started a huge intergalactic war and they're wiping out populations all over the place, and both the Peacekeepers and the Scarrans are trying to hunt down Crichton because they believe he has the ability to create the ultimate weapon that would destroy the other side. So it's a great story of two lovers just trying to put their family first, but they're unable to. They get sucked into the dilemma of, 'Do I sacrifice my family and potentially myself in order to save everyone, or do I run away and try to save my family and sacrifice everyone else?' "It's very cool," promises Henson. "It's a big, big story. It's the story of them trying to have their baby and trying to stop a war." Although Peacekeeper War resolves all the show's major threads, Brian Henson notes that it won't necessarily be the final Farscape adventure. A Farscape theatrical movie and an animated series both remain strong possibilities. It was confirmed last autumn that Tammy McIntosh would reprise her role as Jool. If you recall, Jool chose to stay on the planet Armessk to help a group of time-displaced priests. We know that Moya's crew will make it back to Armessk and reunite with Jool. Remember, Armessk is the planet where Crichton found the object that included ancient Peacekeeper and Human symbols, suggesting a link between the two cultures. It's not known what roll the possible link between Peacekeepers and Humans will play in the mini, but it does allow for some interesting possibilities. Claudia's
interview about the mini in SciFi Wire Pictures from the Mini - You've probably seen these posted all over the WatchFarscape boards and the Kansas boards, but I had to post some of my favs here. Some of these are obviously promo shots and some are actual shots from the filming. If you check out eBay, you can even bid on some of these pics.
--------------------------------------- From TV GUIDE Dumped but
not forgotten, Farscape returns as an epic four-hour miniseries. Here's
the exclusive scoop for long-suffering Scapers. Everybody knows wormholes suck. But in March 2003, when SCI FI Channel pulled Farscape through a wormhole and into cancellation after only four seasons, that *really* sucked for the show's army of stunned fans. They were left on the edge of their couches wondering what would happen to John Crichton (Ben Browder) and his alien pregnant lover Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black) after they were vaporized into a mass of tiny crystals. Farscape's fans--who proudly call themselves "Scapers"--mounted a massive effort to save the witty, inventive series. Fan campaigns succeed about as often as astronauts disappear in space, but this time the Scapers pulled it off. The result: Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, a four-hour October mini-series produced by Hallmark Entertainment and the Jim Henson Company for SCI FI. Grateful producer-director Brian Henson promises to deliver "everything the fans want. We never would have made it without [them]. The consortium of British financiers that came together [to fund the miniseries] approached me because of what the fans were doing." Why did SCI FI, which dumped the series, coop up the miniseries? "It was [offered to us at] a price we could afford," says a network source. "Airing it was a no-brainer." Henson bills The Peacekeeper Wars as an "epic romance set against a huge war" that even viewers new to Farscape will enjoy. Here are some tantalizing plot tidbits.
If enough people
watch, Henson says, there could be a Farscape theatrical movie or even
a possible spin-off series, with Browder in command. "A role like
John Crichton is an absolute gift," he says. "I'd be a fool
not to want to do it." Farscape Peacekeeper Wars Cast List from imdb.com Ben Browder ....
John Crichton ---------------------------------------- From the SCI FI Wire -- SCI FI Brings Back Farscape SCI FI announced it will be bringing back Farscape with an all-new miniseries — called Farscape: Peacekeeper War — slated to air in the fourth quarter of this year. The four-hour miniseries picks up where the cliffhanger series finale left off and will reunite John Crichton (Ben Browder), Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black) and the rest of the Moya crew. Farscape creator Rockne O'Bannon and executive producer David Kemper wrote the miniseries, which was directed by Brian Henson. "Peacekeeper War" was produced by the Jim Henson Company and Hallmark Entertainment, and executive produced by Robert Halmi Jr. SCI FI will make the official announcement at noon on Monday, April 5, during the channel's advertising sales "upfront" presentation.
