1x01 - Premiere Episode
Commander John Crichton is testing his Farscape 1 module in Earth's atmosphere
when he is suddenly sucked into a wormhole and transported to unknown parts
of the universe. As he exits the wormhole he is suddenly caught in the middle
of a space battle and his module accidentally clips another fighter ship. That
ship is thrown off course and crashes in an asteroid. John sees a large ship
and is drawn in to dock in the ship. He meets the crew of the ship, escaped
prisoners D'Argo, Zhaan and Rygel. They have taken over a prisoner transport
ship, a bio-mechanoid ship named Moya. Moya also captures a Peacekeeper prowler
with Officer Aeryn Sun aboard. On a commerce planet the motely crew is discovered
by the Peacekeepers and Captain Bailar Krais, who is out to get John for the
death of his brother. Aeryn Sun is pronounced irrevocably contaminated for spending
too much time with an unknown lifeform. She chooses to stay with the crew on
Moya rather than face death. John helps the crew on Moya escape the Peacekeepers
by using his Farscape research to "skip" across the atmosphere and
slingshot away.
1x02 - I, E.T.
A Peacekeeper beacon suddenly starts broadcasting Moya's location and
the crew frantically tries to stop it. The ship lands in a swamp muffling
the broadcast, but the device must still be removed before their location
is discovered by the local population. Because the device is attached
to a very sensitive part of Moya's nervous system, an anesthetic must
be found or the surgery could kill her. John, D'Argo and Aeryn set off
on the planet to see if they can find the necessary chemical. John befriends
a scientist and her son who try to help him. Aware of Moya's landing
and determined to capture the aliens, the planet's military uses John's
hide-out as their base of operations. Meanwhile, Moya is slowly dying
from the planet's intense gravity and it's up to Zhaan and Rygel to
keep her alive. Rygel removes the PK device from Moya and everyone makes
it back to Moya safely.
1x03 - Exodus From Genesis
Eluding a PK marauder, Moya is taken over by hundreds of space faring
insects. Pilot loses control of atmospheric temperature and the ship
quickly heats up causing Aeryn major problems - Sebeceans lack the gland
to control body heat. When their bodies get too hot they lose motor-functions,
mental abilities, and eventually go into a type of coma - called the
living death. John finds one of the bugs in his quarters and then the
crew discover that the insects are reproducing perfect copies of Moya's
crew. The queen bug uses Zhaan as a communication tool to let the crew
know that she is undergoing "genesis", her hatching cycle.
John makes a deal to allow the bugs to finish genesis if they turn the
heat down just enough to allow Aeryn to live. Just when things seem
to be going alright, the Peacekeeper marauder lands in Moya's open hanger
bay (the doors were open to try and reduce temperature). The PK crew
begin attacking bugs and replicants, angering the queen and cauging
the temperature to spike again. John talks to the queen and the heat
and John and his replicants scare the PK crew off of Moya.
1x04 - Throne For A Loss
To secure much needed money for the crew of Moya, Rygel negotiates the
transport of an unknown cargo with a brutal race of traders known as
Tavleks. John keeps calling them Tavloids, much to Aeryn's chagrine.
Rygel tries to convince the Tavleks he is still the rich monarch of
Hyneria, but the Tavleks have other ideas. They storm Moya and kidnap
Rygel, wanting his empire to pay his ransom. All would be well with
the rest of the crew of Moya (they aren't particularly fond of Rygel),
except that Rygel stole one of Moya's synaptic processors and now Moya
is slowing losing orbit and succombing to the planet's gravity. It is
up to John, Aeryn and D'Argo to free Rygel and find the crystal and
if they can save Rygel. The Tavleks use a guantlet for fighting, a powerful
device worn on the arm that gives the wearer a jolt of addicting adrenaline.
D'Argo, Aeryn and finally each John, each take their turn with the gauntlet,
and while it takes it's toll on each of them, they are able to get Rygel
and the synaptic processor back to Moya.
1x05 - Back and Back and Back to the Future
Moya and the crew encounter an enormous alien cruiser that is disintegrating
on the subatomic level. The crew manages to save two individuals and
a shuttle from the cruiser: Verell (an elderly scientist) and Matala
(his female assistant) are researching deep space gravitational fluctuations.
Because Verell and Matala are Ilanics -- genetic cousins and long-time
allies to the Luxans -- D'Argo insists on transporting them to their
scheduled rendezvous point. However, while rescuing Verell and Matala
from their damaged shuttle, John was accidentally exposed to a minute
particle from a black hole inside the shuttle. This exposure causes
him to see flashes of events that have not happened including Matala
seducing him. This does not sit well with D'Argo, who finds Matala attractive.
Crichton eventually realizes he is getting unexpected glimpses of possible
future events -- including the murders of Verell and D'Argo! However,
every time he tries to correct these future events, things get worse
and worse. John and Aeryn discover that Matala is not a Luxan but is,
in fact, a Scorvian. The Scorvian and Ilanics have been at war for the
past 3 cycles. The research was actually the development of a new weapon
using black hole matter. With Zhaan's help, John manages to convince
D'Argo that Matala is a spy after the weapon. Matala, exposed, kills
Verell and takes off in the shuttle to the rendevous point. However,
the black hole particle has destabilized too far and destroys the shuttle
as Moya starbursts to safety.
1x06
- Thank God It's Friday...Again
D'Argo, suffering the effects of Luxan hyper-rage, storms down to the
planet Sykar -- where the population's sole activity is harvesting tannot
roots. After giving him 3 days to cool off, the others go after him.
When they get there, they find him partying in a bar with the other
workers who happen to be Sebacean. D'Argo's seems completely content
to spend the rest of his life harvesting tannot and getting friendly
with the natives. The next day is a rest day, which explains the party
atmosphere. However, when they wake up in the morning it's the last
day of another work cycle and off to the fields they go. The people
never have a day off - they always think it's Friday. It turns out that
tannot root is a component of chakan oil which fuels all Peacekeeper
weapons. It also drugs out anyone who eats it. The Peacekeepers are
controlling the workers so they maintain an adequate supply of tannot
root. Meanwhile Zhaan has joined D'Argo in working the tannot fields.
John helps some of the Sebaceans rebel against Volmae, the leader, with
the help of Aeryn and Rygel whose bodily fluids have become explosive
after he eats some of the tannot root, a fact discovered by Aeryn. They
manage to convince D'Argo and Zhaan to return with them to Moya.
1x07 - PK Tech Girl
Coming across the wreckage of the Zelbinion, once the most feared warship
of the Peacekeeper armada. It was also the first stop for Rygel immediately
following his removal from power many cycles ago. Mercilessly tortured
and humiliated by the ships tyrannical captain, Durka, Rygel is very upset
at seeing the vessel. Aeryn is curious as to the unknown facts surrounding
the destruction of the powerful ship. D'Argo thinks there may be weapons
or other valuable goods on board, so they board the ship in search of
answers and loot. John tags along. While exploring the ship, picked clean
by scavengers long ago, they find a Peacekeeper tech named Giliana, hiding
in the wreckage. Left behind by Crais, Gilina was part of a small group
assigned to access the ship's data stores and learn the truth behind its
mysterious demise. Unfortunately, the Peacekeepers were attacked by a
group of treacherous scavengers known as Sheyangs. Gilina was the only
survivor of the attack. Aeryn and D'Argo seem intent on killing the Peackeeper
tech, but John intervenes and saves her life. The Sheyangs return to strip
the Zelbinion of what little technology it still contains. With Zhaan's
help, D'Argo tries to convince the scavengers that Moya is populated by
fearsome Luxan warriors. John, Gilina and Aeryn work to restore the Zelbinion's
defense grid to save Moya and themselves. John and Gilina are attracted
to each other, but continue to fix the defense grid together. One of the
Sheyangs boards the Zelbinion and Aeryn saves John and Gilina's lives.
Meanwhile, Rygel comes to terms with his demons, facing his memories of
Durka.
1x08 - That Old Black Magic
Rygel comes down with a nasty case of the Klendian flu necessitating
a detour to the nearest commerce planet for supplies so Zhaan can compound
a remedy. Once on the planet, Zhaan meets a local shaman named Liko
who sells herbal remedies and supplies. Meanwhile, John has wandered
off. He meets a clown-like character who seems to know way too much
about him (for example, John's mother's maiden name and where and when
he lost his virginity). The clown offers to introduce John to his master,
Haloth, who can help John get home. John agrees to meet Haloth; at that
moment, John's spirit is torn from his body and transported into Haloth's
realm leaving John's body in a coma-like state. It turns out that Haloth
is actually an evil creature named Maldis who feeds off the pain and
fear of other beings. He transports Crais's soul to his realm as well
and gloats while Crais attempts to kill John while John tries to reason
with Crais. Liko explains to Zhaan, Aeryn, and D'Argo that Maldis is
non-corporeal and cannot be harmed except in his corporeal form. He
agrees to guide Zhaan in an effort to rescue John. The two join mental
forces which allows Zhaan inside Maldis's realm where she forces him
into a corporeal form. He is then vulnerable to attach. John strikes
at Maldis and causes his energy to disperse, sending John's spirit back
to his body.
1x09 - DNA Mad Scientist
NamTar extracts DNA from the eyeballs of Zhaan, D'Argo, Rygel, and John
in order to use his genetic database to create a map to the homeworld
of each. NamTar demands one of Pilot's arms in exchange for the maps.
John is appalled and informs Aeryn who hasn't visited NamTar as she
has no homeworld to go to. The others remove one of Pilot's arms forcibly
and hand it over to NamTar who gives them a crystal containing the maps
to the homeworlds of Zhaan, D'Argo, and Rygel. John's DNA found no match.
Unfortunately, the three soon discover that due to a flaw in the crystal,
as soon as one map is downloaded, the others are destroyed. They immediately
begin fighting over whose map will be saved. Meanwhile, Aeryn has decided
to ask NamTar to see if he can find her a compatible planet, someplace
she can make a home on. NamTar performs the same eye procedure only
this time he doesn't just take some DNA from Aeryn, he also injects
some DNA into her...DNA extracted from Pilots arm. The new DNA begins
to change her into a Sebacean/Pilot hybrid. John and Aeryn try to force
NamTar to reverse the changes, but he refuses and is too powerful to
overcome. NamTar's assistant, Kornata, explains that originally she
was the scientist and NamTar was her laboratory animal. He grew smarter
and begin experimenting on himself, adding the desirable genetic traits
of other species to himself. Now he wants Pilot's multi-tasking abilities,
using Aeryn to get them. Kornata knows a way to reverse the genetic
additions. She injects NamTar first, reducing him to the original creature
he was. John then injects Aeryn who painfully returns to herself. She
does, however, retain some of Pilot's knowledge of Moya's systems and
how to work them. Kornata also informs them that NamTar sabotaged the
crystal so that if any of the maps were downloaded into Moya, her databanks
would be wiped clean. John manages to get back to Moya and destroy the
crystal before it can be used.
1x10
- They've Got a Secret
The crew is doing a systems sweep to look for any residual Peacekeeper
devices onboard Moya. D'Argo finds one and begins to cut it away from
Moya's hull but loses his balance and slides down a vent shaft. He manages
to stop himself halfway down where he sees another PK device, a shield-like
item stuck to Moya's inner hull. D'Argo begins prying at it when it
suddenly bursts loose knocking D'Argo further down the shaft and spraying
out a particle stream. D'Argo slides down the shaft and is ejected out
into space. By the time Aeryn retrieves him in her prowler, he's been
out in space for 1/2 an arn. Zhaan manages to revive him, but he's acting
strangely. He calls Zhaan "Lolan", Rygel "Jothee" and John "Macton"
and speaks of places and events no one recognizes. Meanwhile, Moya's
systems are beginning to act up. The air is stale; the refrigeration
units are on the fritz, and the DRDs are acting odd. Pilot's nutrient
flow is suddenly shut off leaving him unconscious; Aeryn must take over
Moya's control panel. John decides to see if he can find the device
D'Argo found. Instead, what he finds is unbelievable -- a Leviathan
embryo. When the PK shield was dislodged, it caused Moya to become pregnant.
She needed to reroute system power and nutrients to help the baby in
its first, tenuous hours. Pilot's nutrients are restored as well as
life-support and other environmentals. As for D'Argo, he slowly comes
out of his dream-state and shows the crew a holo-image of his wife,
Lolan, and his son, Jothee. Lolan was Sebacean; she and D'Argo fell
in love, were married, and had a son. Lolan's brother Macton was a Peacekeeper.
He was furious that his sister would corrupt the bloodline. D'Argo and
Lolan fled to a farming colony on a distant planet, but Macton found
them and killed Lolan, framing D'Argo for her death and arresting him.
Before he was arrested, D'Argo managed to get Jothee smuggled to safety.
Now, D'Argo's one goal in life is to find his son.
1x11
- 'Til the Blood Runs Clear
John and Aeryn are collecting data on a proto-wormhole above a commerce
planet. The wormhole destabilizes causing a plasma leak in the retro-fitted
module. John and Aeryn land the damaged ship on the nearby planet and
enlist the services of a mechanic named Furlow. They come across a wanted
beacon with a message from Crais offering a reward for the return of
the prisoners. Aeryn manages to shut off the beacon but not before gaining
the attention of two Vorcarian bloodtrackers, bounty hunters. John manages
to throw them off by claiming he and Aeryn are also bounty hunters and
joining forces with them. Aeryn later discovers a coded personal message
from Crais offering her a deal; if she turns in herself and the prisoners,
she will receive an honorable retirement. However, Aeryn knows this
means death. Meanwhile, D'Argo grows impatient waiting for John and
Aeryn to return. He takes the transport pod down to the planet. Zhaan
is no help as she is particularly susceptible to the surplus solar radiation
-- radiation which elicits in her Delvian metabolism some rather intense-photogasms.
D'Argo is caught and tortured by the bloodtrackers. The bloodtrackers
go off to look for the other prisoners, and John helps D'Argo escape.
The bloodtrackers return and engage in a firefight with John and D'Argo.
But Aeryn saves the day. Although temporarily blinded by another bounty
hunter, she manages to modify the beacon to emit a false message saying
the reward offer has been rescinded. With no reason to continue their
pursuit, the bloodtrackers give up. John's module is repaired, but with
no currency to pay for those repairs, John is forced to give up his
research data to Furlow as payment.
1x12
- Rhapsody in Blue
D'Argo, Zhaan, Rygel, Crichton, and Aeryn are asleep aboard Moya. The
crew is awakened suddenly when Moya starbursts believing she is going
to the rescue of another pregnant Leviathan. D'Argo, John, and Rygel
tell of the dreams they were having right before being awakened; D'Argo
of his wife, John with his ex-girlfriend Alex the last time they were
together, and Rygel of his many wives. Zhaan and Aeryn refuse to comment
on their dreams. Instead of finding another Leviathan, Moya and Pilot
find a small planetoid inhabited by a group of Delvians who escaped
from Delvia when their leaders brought in Peacekeepers to keep themselves
in power. This group was trying to gain wisdom and strength to oppose
the corrupt regime, but they lacked the discipline to control their
darker impulses driving some of them mad and leaving the others in danger
of falling prey to that same fate. Tahleen, the leader, asks Zhaan to
join in unity with her to help her learn how to control the dark impulses,
but instead she rips the knowledge from Zhaan leaving Zhaan on the verge
of insanity. John, Aeryn, and D'Argo try to come to the aid of Zhaan,
but Lorana and Hasko, two of Tahleen's students, hold them off by clouding
the crew's thoughts with twisted hallucinations. D'Argo sees his son
running through Moya, Aeryn believes her pulse pistol is broken, and
John is made to believe that Lorana is actually Alex. Lorana finally
takes pity on John and breaks the hallucinations. John is then able
to help Zhaan regain her control and inner peace by sharing unity with
her.
1x13
- The Flax
Aeryn is giving John flying lessons in the transport pod when they are
suddenly caught in the Flax, an enormous invisible net used by the Zenetan
pirates to capture ships which they then loot. They try to contacta
Moya, even sending out a distress beacon, but nothing works. On Moya,
a renegade Zenetan named Staanz agrees to guide D'Argo through the flax
to get at some Luxan map fibers trapped there, and later to rescue John
& Aeryn -- but they get trapped in the flax. To make matters worse,
the atmospherics have blown in the transport pod -- but in order to
fix it, they'll need to weld & the current atmosphere is so oxygen rich
that they'd blow sky high at a spark. John & Aeryn decide to vent the
oxygen -- discovering that John's face plate is broken at the last moment.
While Zhaan & Rygel are entertaining the pirate commander Kcrackic,
and D'Argo is beating a furnace to get enough speed to break free of
the flax -- John dies & gets brought back to life by Aeryn, who left
the repairs unfinished rather than let his brain turn to mush. John
and Aeryn decide to use the time they have left in a meaningful way...
by making out... only to be interrupted by D'Argo arriving to rescue
them. The pirate commander leaves Moya on a wild goose chase to find
Staanz and the rest of the crew rejoins Moya.
1x14
- Jeremiah Crichton
John gets fed up with being treated by the crew like an inferior being
all the time and decides to take a joyride in his Farscape module. Unfortunately,
pressure has been building in Moya's amnexus systems, and she is forced
to decompensate by starbursting while John is still outside the ship.
John ends up settling on a small green planet, where a native girl,
Lishala, falls for him embroiling him in political intrigue. You see,
she is the daughter of the tribal leader, and Lishala's suitor is the
son of an ambitious priestess. Meanwhile, the crew of Moya has been
searching for Crichton for a quarter of a cycle. D'Argo and Rygel go
down to the planet to try to retrieve John, but there is a mysterious
power drain on the planet. Once there, no craft can power up again.
Lishala's people revere Rygel as a god...it turns out they were originally
Hynerian subjects. They quickly realize Rygel is no god, but Rygel is
able to shut down the device causing the power drain allowing John,
D'Argo, and himself to return to Moya and releasing Lishala's people
from their imprisonment on the planet.
1x15
- Durka Returns
Coming out of starburst, Moya collides with a Nebari transport. The
crew brings the ship on board for repairs. The Nebari ship consists
of 3 passengers, a Nebari official named Salis, a Nebari criminal named
Chiana, and a Sebacean named Durka. Yes, the same Durka who tortured
Rygel aboard the Zelbinion over 100 cycles ago. Durka apparently faked
his own death and fled the Zelbinion, only to be captured by the attacking
Nebari vessel. The Nebari put him in deep freeze mental cleansing for
100 cycles. Chiana is being taken back to Nebari Prime for the same
treatment. Her crime is nonconformity. Rygel, understandably furious
and eager for revenge, tries to kill Durka with a homemade bomb. All
that does is knock Durka out of his mentally cleansed state and back
into homocidal mania. All hell breaks loose. Chiana escapes from her
cell, Salis is found murdered, Durka holds Aeryn & Rygel hostage, and
more Nebari ships are on an intercept course with Moya. Durka tries
to force Moya to starburst, but she can't because of the pregnancy.
Durka goes to use the canon in the Nebari transport to kill Moya's baby
so she will be able to starburst. John makes another bomb and tosses
it into the pod bay. Moya is then able to eject Durka in the transport
and quickly flee from the approaching Nebari. Chiana stays on board
as a new member of the crew.
1x16 - A Human Reaction
A wormhole appears near Moya and at the end of it, John sees Earth.
He mans his Farscape module and flies home. He crashlands on the beaches
of Australia. Unfortunately, it isn't the happy reunion John had envisioned
and he is drugged, examined, detained, distrusted and treated like an
alien by the very humans he was trying to return to. They find the translator
microbes in him and are suspicious of the unknown technology now on
the Farscape ship. With the help of his father, Jack Chrichton, John
is given some freedom, but things only get worse, as D'Argo, Aeryn and
Rygel come through the wormhole in Moya's transport pod and are captured.
Rygel has a allergic reaction and dies, D'Argo is taken to a secret
military base in the United States, and John and Aeryn escape and are
on the run. Jack Crichton tries to help them, and just as John and Aeryn
are getting away, John realizes that everyone around him is someone
he knows and that all newspapers, magazines are 7 months old, the time
of his disappearance from earth. John freaks and soon the truth is revealed.
John has been taken by aliens testing his memories of earth to see if
it would be a safe place for them co-habitate. Unfortunately, from John's
memories the aliens learn that earth won't be hospitable. We are left
with one lingering question from this ep....did they or didn't they?
John and Aeryn spent a night together in a safe house, and I don't think
they were "just talking".
1x17
- Through The Looking Glass
The crew is eating dinner in the galley and talking over their situation.
Moya is having a lot of trouble starbursting because her pregnancy is
too far along. Moya gets frightened that the crew are going to leave
her and Pilot so she forces starburst. Without enough build-up of forward
thrust, Moya gets stuck in the middle of starburst. She is split into
4 different elements in between dimensions, and it appears that a creature
is trying to attack them. The crew is also split between these different
incarnations of Moya. John finds portals between them. Pilot suggests
trying to back out by initiating full-reverse in each section. However,
the next time the creature "attacks" John realizes that it is trying
to communicate...through prime numbers. The creature opens a portal
into it's dimension where John is able to communicate with it. Moya
has caused a tear in the wall between dimensions. The creature is trying
to repair it but must remove Moya first. Moya must go forward, not reverse.
Moya is able to tear free. The crew ends up back in the galley to finish
their dinner. Pilot interrupts to announce that Moya feels she is very
near to delivery. The crew is very pleased for Moya and happily contemplate
the coming event.
1x18
- A Bug's Life
When a Peacekeeper Marauder leaking cesium fuel boards Moya, the crew
discovers that Peacekeeper control has begun to extend to the Uncharted
Territories. John poses as a Peacekeeper Captain -- with Aeryn as his
Lieutenant, Chiana their server, and the rest of the crew as their prisoners
-- and forms an uneasy alliance with the four PK Commandos from the
ship. John learns from their leader, Larraq, that these Pks were en
route to a secret Peacekeeper Gammak Base less than 20 arns away. Larraq
commandeers Moya in order to deliver his mysterious cargo to this base.
On the way, Rygel & Chiana get curious and open up the crate only to
find that the crate houses an intellant virus, which they accidentally
release. This parasite passes from crew member to crew member, almost
undetectable. Larraq accepts the help of Moya’s entire crew in order
to track this virus down before it can release its millions of spores,
reproducing exponentially, and take control of the galaxy. At this point,
the creature has taken residence in Larraq but no one knows it yet.
When Zhaan creates a serum to test for the virus, Larraq makes a run
for it. In the virus’s bid for escape, it causes Larraq to stab Aeryn.
It then makes a run for the Marauder. John has Pilot go through the
initial stages of starburst, which ignites the cesium fuel leaking from
the Marauder causing it to explode, killing Larraq and the virus.
1x19
- Nerve
Aeryn's stab wound has healed, but the knife pierced her parapheral
nerve which regulates toxin levels in Sebaceans. Once damaged, it does
not heal. The only hope for Aeryn's survival is to find a tissue sample
from a matching donor. John proposes a risky scheme to save her. He
will once again pose as a Peacekeeper and heads to the secret Gammak
base. Chiana goes along to help. Upon arriving at the base, John manages
to bluff his way through until he reaches the quarters section. A genetic
scans awaits. Much to the surprise of John and Chiana, the genetic scan
passes. John heads to his quarters and is surprised to find Gilina who
is now assigned to the Gammak base. She reworked the system to allow
John in. John tells her of Aeryn's situation; Gilina informs him that
medical technology has advanced to the point where nerve tissue can
be replicated. She heads out to get him a sample. When John gets the
sample he tries to head back to the prowler only to be stopped by Scorpius,
a Scarran-Sebacean hybrid who is conducting mind mapping experiments.
John manages to hide the sample in a nook before being dragged off.
Scorpius straps John in the Aurora chair, a device which sections the
brain and displays memories on a vid screen. He is trying to figure
out what John is doing at the base, but the procedure takes time. Meanwhile,
Gilina helps disguise Chiana as a tech and helps her escape with the
tissue sample. She gets back to Moya in time to save Aeryn. Meanwhile,
between sessions, John is taken to a cell he shares with an individual
named Stark who appears to be completely insane. John waits in the cell,
not knowing if help is coming or when the next session in the chair
will start. To be continued...
1x20 - The Hidden Memory
While orbiting the Peacekeeper Gammak Base, Moya goes into full labor,
which renders all her propulsion systems inoperable. Aeryn, still recovering
from her paraphoral nerve graft, insists on leading a rescue mission
to save John. With Gilina's help in manipulating the Aurora Chair, John
is able to hold out long enough to protect Gilina's identity. Gilina
implants a false memory of John handing over wormhole technology to
Captain Crais. Scorpius immediately sticks Crais in the Aurora Chair.
With their two enemies distracted, Aeryn manages to free both Crichton
and Stark from the cell. Gilina sabotages the base's systems, allowing
the prisoners to get to the surface where they are met by D'Argo and
Zhaan. Gilina is shot while distracting Scorpius so that John can get
free. Back in orbit, Moya is having severe problems giving birth. Her
baby is not a normal Leviathan; he is covered with weapons, which are
preventing the baby from exiting the birth canal on its own. Chiana
clears a path allowing the baby to slip free, saving the lives of both
mother and baby. Back on Moya, Gilina lies dying. Stark comforts her
by giving her a memory of a beautiful place he once visited. John kisses
her once last time and then she dies.
1x21
- Bone To Be Wild
While hiding in an asteroid field from the scans of Crais’s Command
Carrier, Moya receives a distress signal originating on a small planetoid
floating nearby. Crichton, D’Argo and Zhaan go investigate. The planetoid
is covered with plants but doesn't seem to have any animal life. The
only two non-plants are M’Lee, the female who sent the distress message,
and a large beast who is trying to kill her. The crew saves M’Lee, who
says that her entire family has been killed by the beast. However, they
find that the beast is actually a botanist named Br’nee, who claims
that M’Lee is killing people. It turns out that M'Lee is a calcivore;
she needs to eat bones to survive. Both of them turn out to be dangerous,
but Br'nee is the real threat -- his group of botanists brought M'Lee's
people to the planet to clear it of animal life so they could study
the plants. When they were finished, Br'Nee's group left them to starve.
They were forced to eat each other. M'Lee is the only one left. Br'Nee
discovers that Zhaan is a plant. He attempts to shrink Zhaan so he can
add her to his plant collection. The crew ends up defeating Br'nee and
convincing M'Lee to hold onto her appetite since the Peacekeepers are
on their way to the planet's surface. She will soon have plenty to eat.
1x22 - Family Ties
Still hiding in the asteroid field, the crew know it is only a matter
of time before the Peacekeepers discover their location. The situation
goes from bad to worse when Rygel betrays the crew and surrenders to the
Peacekeepers. Promising information about John and the crew in exchange
for his freedom, Rygel makes a deal with Scorpius. His actions force the
crew into desperate actions. Their only way out of danger is for one of
them to crash a transport pod into the command carrier -a suicide mission-
thus allowing Moya to escape. To everyone's surprise, Rygel returns and
Crais tags along. Knowing he has no future with the
Peacekeepers beyond death, Crais joins the crew and asks for mercy and protection. The change of
events leads to a change of tactics. Instead of crashing the pod into the command carrier, the
crew decide to crash it into the Gammak base destroying it and the Aurora chair. Piloted by
John and D'Argo, he pod makes a desperate attempt to reach the base and draw Scorpius away
from Moya. Aeryn is standing by in her prowler to pick up John and D'Argo who are drifting in
space after sending their pod on the suicide run. Crais steals the newly born Talyn and
starbursts away, leaving Moya and the crew stunned. Aeryn can't get to John and D'Argo
because of the Peacekeepers, D'Argo looses consciousness and Moya startbursts away after
Talyn, leaving Aeryn, John and D'Argo behind and vunerable.
