3X21 - Into the Lion's Den, Part 2 - Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Scorpius: Soon the Scarrans will rule half this galaxy
J: Oh grasshopper, you're so screwed.
Another Kung Fu reference. Grasshopper was what Kane's (the main character) mentor called him as a boy.

J: Scorpius is in Captain Queeg mode. Somebody's stolen his strawberries, and he's not going to let his pet project die.
A reference to the movie, The Caine Mutiny. At one point in the movie, the unstable Captain Queeg accuses members of his crew of stealing his strawberries.

Discussing possible plans to blow up the Command Carrier
J: Hell, we can stick a banana in the tailpipe.
A reference to the movie Beverly Hills Cop. Eddie Murphy's Axel Foley sticks a banana in the tailpipe of a police cruiser.

Scorpius: Got any 3's? ... Aha!
J: Got any 6's?
Scorpius: Go fish!
Go Fish is a card game where you try to collect sets of 4 cards of the same face value. You take turns asking the other players if they have a certain card you need to complete a set; if they don't have any of those cards, they call "go fish" and you have to draw from the deck.

To Co-Kura
J: Yo, Harrison, get your shoes on. We're going on a little trip to my module.
New! The mystery has been solved. In Farscape: The Official Magazine, Issue 8, Rockne S O'Bannon reveals the meaning behind this most confusing of Crichtonisms.

"When my father was growing up in Colorado, there was a guy who lived down the road where my dad lived whose name was Harrison. The joke was always that he never would do anything to help out with anything -- barn raising or whatever they used to do -- because he never had his shoes on. It became a family thing and my dad would say, 'get your shoes on Harrison, and come on out and help me mow the lawn' or something like that. So I said to Ben, 'I know this makes no sense to you, and your tendency would be to make it into something that actually makes sense to people, but, as a favour to me, and my family, please leave him in. They'll think it's great. It just goes past and nobody knows what it means.' And, God bless him, he did that."
Here is the original comment we had up. We got help from site fans. Thanks guys!
I'm not sure why John calls him Harrison. The only Harrisons I can think of are Harrison Ford and George Harrison. If anyone has an idea of what or whom John is referring to, let us know. Note: Someone did email us and let us know that George Harrison has clothing line, including shoes, available in New Zealand. He also starred in the movie "Blue Suede Shoes" in 1986.

John's informing Pilot of the plan
J: Just be ready to starburst if you don't see us haulin' ass toward you.
"Hauling ass" is moving very fast.

Scorpius: I allowed you to get this primitive ship. How is it going to get me what I want?
John holds up 3 fingers to Scorpius
J: Read the middle finger Scorpius
Holding the middle finger up toward someone is a common (if highly offensive) gesture here in the US.

Scorpius: Which pilot is ready for deployment?
J: Oh no, no no, nobody flies her but me. One of your bozos screws up and it's bye bye birdie.
Bye Bye Birdie is a musical. The movie version starred Dick Van Dyke and Janet Leigh.

Scorpius doesn't want John to fly the module
J: If I don't kick this project in the ass before Commandant Cleavage gets back, she's going to execute me anyway, right?
Scorpius looks worried
J: What? You worried if I turn into silly putty so do you?
"Commandant Cleavage" *snerk*
Silly Putty is a classic toy consisting of a plastic polymer that is moldable and can take impressions off of newsprint.

Getting ready to enter the wormhole
J: All right Scorp, you ready to rumble?
"Let's get ready to rumble" is the signature phrase of boxing announcer Michael Buffer.

Inside the wormhole
J: What do you think?
Scorpius: This is without description, John.
J: It's a real Kodak moment.
A "Kodak moment" is used to descripe a perfect opportunity to take a photograph.

John and Scorpius are experiencing some turbulence in the wormhole
Scorpius: What is causing this, John?
J: Flying through wormholes ain't like dusting crops, Farm Boy.
Crop dusting is a method of spreading fertilizer or pesticide over crops using an airplane. This is also a reference to Star Wars (what else is new). Han Solo tells Luke Skywalker "Flying through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy." (thanks to David W. for writing in with this quote)

Scorpius: I've never felt this connected, John.
J: You're not going all mushy on me back there, are you?
"Going mushy" means to get overly sentimental or emotional.

Scorpius is a bit wobbly getting out of the module
J: Haven't got your wormhole legs yet.
"Wormhole legs" is a play on words, on the term "sea legs" which means that one has gained the ability to keep one's balance while on a ship at sea.

John gives Scorpius the combination to the Yensch bracelet
J: Hold two, press 9-1-1
John takes every opportunity to throw in a joke. 911 is the number for emergency services here in the US.
