3X22 - Dog with Two Bones

(John's dream. John and Aeryn are at a wedding dress shop and he's just told her to say "Charge it" and she couldn't pronounce *charge* correctly.)
A: That was completely embarrassing.
J: Baby, look, English is a very difficult language. Half the time people don't understand what I'm talking about.
This is so true...

(John's dream again. Aeryn and Jack are at a table in a restaurant talking about Earth and her upcoming wedding to John)
A: Jack, I am miserable here and he just doesn't see it. I'm going to get married and end up like Betty Crocker.
This isn't technically a Crichonism, but Aeryn says this in John's dream...so maybe it's what he was thinking she would say. Betty Crocker is a famous brand of foods, cakes, brownies, ready made meals...etc.

(John and Aeryn talking about how to get away from the rogue Leviathan)
J: We have to cut and run.
"Cut and run" is slang for "get out of here fast".

(John's dream...he and Chiana are talking)
C: I went shopping!
J: Shopping, no, no, you don't have any money.
C: Shop....lifting. Shop lifting.
Shop lifting is stealing clothes or anything from a store.

(John and Chi still in the dream)
J: Sit.
C: Hey, I spent some time with the boys. I think I found who the best man is.
You go girl....

(John and D'Argo in D'Argo's ship)
J: I thought you said this thing only repsonds to your DNA.
D: It does. That's why I covered all the controls.... (John interrupts)
J: Oh. That's why I'm wearing gloves.
Ewww...what did he cover the controls in?

(John's dream. During the wedding, Peacekeepers come in and kill everyone at the wedding reception. Including Aeryn, who has been shot)
J: No, baby, no you're going to be all right.
A: Don't worry about me, I've never felt better.
Again, this isn't really a Crichtonism, but this is exactly what John (on Talyn) said to Aeryn just before he died in the episode, Infinite Possibilities: Icarus Abides.

Old Woman: You blame yourself.
J: Dog with two bones.
Old Woman: Unfamiliar.
J: Dog. Animal. A pet.
John tells the story of a dog carrying a bone that sees it's reflection in the water and drops the bone he's carrying to get the other one. The bones drops into the water and is gone and the dog doesn't have anything. This is analagous to the situation John is in...he wants to be with Aeryn and he wants to go back to Earth, but he can't have both.

(John and Aeryn have just shared a very passionate, poignant kiss)
J: What does that tast like?
A: Yesterday.
J: Oh, well, nobody can compete with that. I am so much better dead.
Oh, man....this is so sad.

J: You want fate. I've got fate right here. (holding out a coin)
A: What?
J: Coin toss.
Coin tossing is one way to determine a tough choice. You decide which side of the coin determines which path you take and just toss the coin...leaving your choice up to chance...or fate.
