Taxi Driver...starring Robert DeNiro and Jodie Foster. There is a famous scene in that movie where DeNiro stands in front of a mirror and says over and over again, "you want a piece of me"...trying to work on his tough guy look

J: (speaking to the Prince) Do not try to kill me again, it makes me angry.
Jenavian: Is everything all right?
J: He needs a bath and a hug.
Oh, yea...that'll do it....

J: Lady, we have been over this ground with a backhoe, it saves my life, it saves your ass.
(Ketralla slaps him)
J: Well, I did deserve that.
A backhoe is a machine used to move large amounts of dirt

J: (looking at a hovering ball-shaped gun) Do we know this?
Ketralla: I've never seen anything like it before.
J: Obiwon had one, except his was a lot smaller.

J: Buckle in, boys and girls. Emergency exits...hammond side.

J: Presents, no you've done enough, I'm going to talk to the Mrs., you can keep the presents.
You need a toaster right?
Ro-Nah: Toaster, toaster, toaster. Oh, I-I couldn't... Highness.
J: It's John. Look, I'm going to be a statue for 80 cycles. Someone ought to use this stuff while the warranties are still good.
Warranties are sometimes automatically included and sometimes sold with products...they protect against early breaking and usually cover the cost of repairs.

J: Well, good question, before I left here, I had a lot of things that were very important to me.
Ro-Nah: No more?
J: I live in a converted cell, I don't have a VCR, no remote control, damn...no Charlie Parker albums
and I do miss my 62 T-bird.
Ro-Nah: T-Bird, T-Bird, T-Bird... oh... T-Bird
I think Ro-Nah is a little confused....

Servant: (to Scorpious's henchman) I want my payment
J: (to the servant) You do not get the toaster.

J: (pointing a gun to shoot him in the penis) Here, John Wayne Bobbit, Vienna Boys Choir

J (point gun at his hand): Kill my sex life
John Wayne Bobbit had his....uhummm...penis cut off by his wife. If I remember right she threw it in the road...he retreived it and doctors sewed it back on....ouch!

The Vienna Boys Choir is a famous choir of young boys with angelic voices, mostly soprano since their voices haven't yet changed with puberty. In the 17th and 18th centuries, boys were sometimes castrated so their voices would stay pure and high soprano all their lives.

J: Ah! Get back! Get back, or the white boy gets it!
(Ro-Nah steps back gasping)
J: ( voiced altered for the full effect ) Oh, man! Don't let 'em kill me! Don't let-- ( in 'normal' voice) You people are so dumb!
I love this scene, but then I also love Blazing Saddles.

J: Never get off the boat. Never get off the boat, man!!
We thought this might be a Jaws reference, but many....many....readers wrote in and informed us that this quote is a reference to the movie Apocalypse Now. Thanks, everyone.

At the end of this ep, John is turned into a statue. The obvious reference is to the Star Wars movie, The Empire Strikes Back, when Han Solo is encased in carbonite (?). The other not so obvious reference to the same movie, is when...well, I'll just quote Ben Browder:

"And the writers, David Kemper had written this line from Chiana going, "I love you." And there was no scripted response from me. It was just a "I love you" and a hug, and I hadn't even thought about it until we started to shoot it. And I think it was during the first take she goes, "I love you. " And from the back of my head I could hear Harrison Ford going (Crichton responding to Chiana) "I know. " So, I just said, "I know" and without realizing even where it came from at the time that I said it. I guess, somewhere out there, see these things, these pop-culture references, sneak into our lives without us even knowing it. So, I just responded, "I know. " And I went, after the take, damn, that was Harrison Ford, man! I just stole again!"
