(John's playing golf , complete with play by play)
J: Goodness, let the Big Dog eat! ( softly singing ) 'He's a Cinderella Boy'...
(John steps up to the ball...)
J: (whispering) "Oh, my, Bob... this is a... this is a big chance for the kid from the Uncharted Territories... he's about two feet off the green, here on the eighteenth, two strokes off the lead... question is... will he chip or will he use the putter?"

J: Hey, maybe that's what I saw-- a Vorc.
A: It's about this size, naked, with a face like this...
J: No, no, no. It was more like Tandoori Chicken.
Tandoori Chicken is a Indian dish spiced with cumin, tumeric, garlic, chilis....a good recipe can be found on FoodTV

P: Officer Sun... mentioned that you'd been... distracted lately. She believes it's possible that you broke into Rygel's food cache and fired at an imaginary enemy, while playing some sort of... game.
J: It's 'Golf'.

J: (about the Vorc) We could use to flush the parasite out, it could be our bird dog.
A "bird dog" is a dog used in hunting. He walks ahead of the hunter and flushes out the birds who fly up into the air and the hunter is able to shoot them

J: (asking Pilot to open the door to Command) Pilot... open sesame.
The universal password....good to know it works in the Uncharted Territories

J: All right, riddle me this: Because we think we may have parasites on board, we get a Vorc... cause someone tells us that Vorcs kill parasites. Now, all of a sudden, this other critter shows up. This Ewok gone bad, bites D'Argo, poisons him, yeah? So we capture the parasite, and surprise... the parasite and the Vorc are the same thing, but... neither one of them is poisonous. So... (Pause for dramatic effect) ...for ten thousand dollars, and the Carribean Cruise... what poisoned D'Argo?
Ok, this one a mix...first off "riddle me this" - famous phrase used in the Batman and Robin comics and TV series spoken by the Riddler, one of Batman's rivals. Second, "ewok" - the fuzzy little creature of the woods in the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi film. Third, "for ten thousand dollars, and the Carribean Cruise" - this sounds like something from a game show, possibly The Price is Right.

J: I don't know. Why don't you ask it?
A: Oh, that's very good, Crichton. I know my translator microbes are working, because deranged as it always is, I do understand what you're saying, but this creature can only grunt and growl, it cannot talk.
J: No. Aeryn. This is a good idea. Why don't we see if we can get the 'Incredible Vorc' here to understand us?
The Incredible Vorc is a reference to the comic book and TV series the Incredible Hulk. The Hulk could only grunt and growl as well, though his human counterpart was very well spoken.

A: (talking to the Vorc) Hello? I'm sorry. I don't want to kill you.
J: That was... terrible! That was... that was... look, Lassie here is trying to communicate with us.
Lassie is the dog from a TV show as well. Lassie would always run in and bark and save the day. What a great dog! :-)

J: (speaking to the Vorc) You understand shoot? Little bolts of light, ktaw, ktaw, ktaw....ouch.
I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that is an E.T. reference.....say it with me....ouch.

J: Rygel, it's probably not after you. It's just lookin' for a gopher, man.

(On freeing Rygel from the parasite cocoon)
J: Holy 'Body Snatchers'. Start talkin'.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers.....that movie kept me awake for days...
