Warp speed is the ability, I think, to travel at the speed of light. Warp 1000 is pretty fast, and I'm not sure but I think Lt. Tom Paris from ST: Voyager would have a thing to two to say about that. He crosses the transwarp threshold, exceeding warp 9.99 and mutates into a fish.

Upon entering the Zelbinion--

Gilina: And the bomb never goes off?

Cock fighting is a loved/hated sport where gamecocks, often fitted with metal gaffs, are arranged to fight as a spectacle. The bomb conversation refers to the many, many movies, but one in particular and that's Lethal Weapon 3. The scene comes at the very beginning of the film where Riggs (played by Mel Gibson) is too impatient for the bomb squad - cuts the wrong wire - and blows the hell out of a building.
