1X03 - Exodus From Genesis

J: (Spits out dentic): It's kinda minty.
Which is fitting....toothpaste is minty

J: Don't tell me Moya's got hiccups.
Just imagine that scenario

On first spotting the Marauder--
J: How fast can they go?
A: Hetch seven.
J: Hetch seven? [That] thing's a Hyundai -- why don't we stop playing hide and seek and just smoke 'em?
Hyundai is a Korean car maker - and they're not bad cars - but then again, they're not a Mustang, now are they? (my personal favorite)

Discussing the elite Marauder Peacekeeper squads--
A: I'm sure your world has no force so ruthless, so disciplined.
J: Oh, we call them linebackers...or serial killers; depends on whether they're professional or amateur.
Linebacker is a position in American football, they are big men whose job it is to attack the player carrying the football.

John offers to help--
A: No offense, Human, but what can I possible need from you?
J: Well, I dunno...manners...personality...stock tips...
We could all use some stock tips right about now...

Checking the thermostat on Moya--
J: D'Argo, the giant ouija board says, uh...optimum plus 3.
Ouija is a trademark used for a board with the alphabet and other symbols on it, and a planchette that is thought, when touched with the fingers, to move in such a way as to spell out spiritualistic and telepathic messages on the board. - definition courtesy of Dictionary.com

Aeryn is freaking a bit about the rise in temperature--
P: All attempts to chill the ship have been overridden by the heat buildup.
J: "Chill" being the operative word here, Aeryn. It's a little warmer, what's the big deal?
Chill is American slang that means "to relax." Courtesy of the Cambridge Dictionary Online

D: Nothing can resist a prism laser saw.
J: Well, you'd better check the warranty, cous', 'cause that stuff ain't budging.
A warranty is protection for the buyer that their product is free of defects and usually covers the cost of any necessary repairs.

J: D'Argo, Rygel! (To Aeryn) How do you say, "We're screwed," in your native tongue?
I don't know, but we're screwed is more American slang for "we're in big trouble now."

When the Drak monarch takes over Zhaan's body--
J: No! It's the real Zhaan! She's talking. The xeroxes can't do that.
Xerox is a well-known brand of copy machines.

Discussing the Drak birthing cycle--
A: How much longer?
J: I don't know. We didn't cover the life-cycle of deep-space insects at JFK High.
John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States, and I looked up JFK Highs on Yahoo.com and there are too many to list or even count them up.

Approching Aeryn on the terrace near the end of the ep--
J: Hey, remember me? Didn't we meet at a party a few years back?
Nice pick up line, John.
